Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Travelers Route (“we”, “the site”) collects and how we handle it. The site is published from Japan by Taps inc. and personal data is handled in line with applicable data-protection law; where you are protected by additional rights (for example under the GDPR), those rights also apply.

Information we collect

  • Cookies (which you can disable in your browser settings)
  • Access logs (IP address, browser type, referrer, pages viewed and similar)
  • Information you include when you email us (your address, name and message)
  • Chatbot activity logs from the “Travelers Route Assistant” (see the dedicated section below)

How we use it

  • Statistical analysis to run and improve the site and its content
  • Replying to your inquiries
  • Preventing unauthorized access and spam

Chatbot logs (“Travelers Route Assistant”)

Our on-site chatbot records the following activity so we can improve its menus and answers through statistical analysis:

  • The menu options you select and the links you click
  • Text you type in the free-input box (up to 200 characters, control characters removed)
  • A randomly generated anonymous session identifier, the path of the page viewed, device type (mobile / desktop) and the time of the interaction

We do not record information that identifies you personally, such as your IP address, name or email address. These logs are used only for statistical analysis to improve the site, and are not provided to third parties except that they are sent to our analytics service (Google Analytics receives the event type, the menu selected and the text entered). They are deleted automatically 13 months after collection. Please do not enter personal information such as your name or contact details in the free-input box.

Retention

  • Access logs: 90 days from collection
  • Inquiry correspondence: 3 years from receipt (in line with record-keeping obligations)
  • Chatbot logs: 13 months from collection
  • Cookies: per your browser settings and each cookie’s own expiry

Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to run and improve the site:

  • Google Analytics (site analytics, with IP anonymization) — sets cookies but does not collect personally identifying information. Analytics only runs after you accept cookies via the consent banner. See the Google Privacy Policy.
  • Affiliate programs — when you click an affiliate link, the partner network may record the referral to attribute a booking. We do not receive personally identifying information from these networks. See our editorial policy for details.

Sharing with third parties

We do not provide your personal information to third parties except where required by law or where you have given your consent.

Managing cookies

You can disable cookies at any time in your browser settings, and you can withdraw analytics consent by clearing this site’s cookies — the consent banner will reappear on your next visit. Disabling cookies may make some features of the site unavailable. See your browser’s help pages for how to manage cookies.

Your rights

You may request access to your personal information, or ask us to correct it, restrict our use of it, or delete it. We will verify your identity and respond in accordance with applicable law. Contact us at hello@travelers-route.com.

Disclaimer

We make every effort to keep the information on this site accurate at the time of publication, but we do not guarantee its completeness or currency. We accept no liability for actions taken on the basis of information on this site — always confirm the latest details with official sources.
